Almost packed

This sketch #12. I doubt if I'll get today's done before we leave tomorrow morning. But I'll try. I'm not helped in that I returned all our library books yesterday and Elizabeth didn't put the CD back in the case (as asked repeatedly) so I have to go back to the library today. Also waiting on my Pampered Chef delivery from the Chocoholics Show. Perhaps I won't make the Ernst & Young alumni do at Bohemia this evening.

Only one layout so far this week as I've been altering some letters for Claire's birthday which have turned out nice (photo after Easter) and finishing off my felted bags. I'll say good bye and Happy Easter.

Marvellous Monday

These two photographs that Matthew's year 4 teacher gave me a couple of years ago were perfect for sketch #11. Some stickers for embellishments and I used some more of the Karen Foster screwhead brads which I think are great for boy pages. More chipboard in fun serif.

A sketch#6 which I missed. I used some tags received in a swap as embellishments.

I have printed off most of my photos for the classes this weekend. Just a couple missing which I hope I will find in my cupboard over the next few days. If I don't I'm sure I won't finish the layouts and albums over the weekend in any case so they can wait until I get back. I just need to get my tool bag ready and there is a long list of stuff to take. But I need to leave plenty of room for the return journey!!

sketch #9

I feel as if I've been busy today but haven't achieved very much. One layout finished from sketch #9. Thanks Lorraine for the loan of fun serif. I have an hour now to get Elizabeth to Brownies and then get sorted for the 5 WI members coming around to scrapbook this evening.

I got the photos ready for the Smile class at Watford. I must tackle my disney photos tomorrow and print off about another 20.

getting ready

I was horrified to not finish this layout at last night's card class, but Lorraine really worked us hard and practically threw us out at 9.30 pm. I finished it this morning however.

The job for the day was to find 30 black embellishments for one of the classes at Scrap Fever in 10 days time. I didn't think I had much and cut some flowers and tags from mountboard.I looked in three boxes of miscellaneous embellishments and found a veritable treasure trove of black stuff to add to my bag, so that's one class I'm ready for. Next I think will be the three photos needed for the smile class.

Batteries required

I love using my cordless mouse and keyboard. I get annoyed when the mouse keeps telling me its batteries need recharging but I get more annoyed when the keyboard's batteries run out unexpectedly. It takes me 10 minutes to remember why its stopped working. There was no way I was switching off the computer as I had over 30 photos that I canned from my parent's photo album that I hadn't saved.

I swapped over keyboards and have now saved the photos. A few I printed off and have done sketch #8 from nycscraps. They are now taking sign ups for the class starting 9 April. I am going to see if my momentum keeps going for March before signing up.

Happy Mother's Day

There is a lovely waft of garlic dauphinoise potatoes coming from the kitchen. It's making me very hungry. Nick, Matthew and Dad are unwell. For Mother's Day I received two lovely blue beads for my troll bracelet, I had purchased a blue bead for myself last week and wasn't entirely happy with it, but now it has something to go with it looks much nicer.

I've managed to finish two layouts this morning. One of my tasks this week is to sort more photos or perhaps get the children to do some. I need photos for Scrap Fever in Watford in only two weeks and some more to scrap generally.

Chocs away

Today is the day of our much publicized Chocaholics cooking show. So here is a sketch #5 which I started on Tuesday. Thank you Christine for the fun serif sisix dies. Once posted I will be switching off the computer to do some preparation for tonight, so if you need me uurgnetly you'll have to ring.

Sketch #4

Anyone who listens to Radio Jersey I am on at 10.15am tomorrow with Mary to promote the Chocoholics cooking show!!!

I have finished two single layouts using sketch #4 from NYCSCRAPS. A double layout just needs a title and I've set my heart on fun serif from some lovely blue chipboard from Lorraine, so that will be done tomorrow evening at club. Here's my last layout from the sketch which has a wonky M on the scan but not in real life.

I couldn't remember which other photos I'd done and here they are, Matthew swimming aged about 1.

Saturday crop

Great crop, thanks to everyone who was able to make it. Great turn out. I was surprised to find when I came home and unpacked that I'd almost finished two double pages and two single pages. I have now finished the Halloween - Disneyland Paris and have submitted that to Creating Keepsakes as it is a Becky Higgins sketch for publication. creating keepsakes link I'm unlikely to be published, but it's worth a try. I can't therefore post it here so I will bring it on Tuesday. I also completed my patchwork layout which is for the TSR newsletter.

I have completed the simple Bathtime layout with some yellow ducks (thanks as always Lorraine) and cut a title on my craft Robo for the sketch #3 from nycscraps class.

And I mustn't forget Happy Birthday Lorraine

Playing at the airport

I haven't scrapped today, but the diamond glaze is now dry on the chipboard letters I cut from Lorraine's Doodleblock alphabet. This is sketch #1 of nycscraps class.

Although sketch #3 is up, I haven't started it yet as I need to get ready for tomorrow's crop. We have several new faces and a good turn out. I also want to do the Becky Higgins sketch for submission for the October 2007 edition of Creating Keepsakes and I've been asked to do a layout from a sketch for the TSR newsletter too, so plenty to do at the crop.

Another sketch #2

What's cooking - a number of photos of the children cooking and licking the bowls!! This is another layout using the sketch #2 from the nycscraps class and a TSR American Crafts kit with loads of the brads I won from Dovecrafts and some old Alphabitties letter stickers.

Now I must do some food shopping and jobs and phone calls. See everyone at the crop on Saturday. Please let me know if you're coming, because if you don't use it you could lose it!!

Happy 5th birthday

The nycscraps class is really getting me scrapping. I did one more layout with the #1 sketch yesterday - just need to diamond glaze the letters and then I quickly did this layout from #2 sketch in record time for me.

This layout uses another Scraproom kit.

Paris on the batobus

Here are the first two layouts I've done from the NYC scraps class 1 in 48. I may use the sketch again as it's so versatile.

Waiting impatiently

Today is the first day of a month long sketches class by Hilary H. As it's based in the US, the sketches get posted about 1 pm to 1.30 pm our time. I hope I achieve more with this class than I am with the Heidi Swapp Year to Remember class as it's been a bit OTT for me so far. I adapted the February layout of people you love (see what I mean) to use some photos I took at Elizabeth's friend's party on Saturday. I have done a similar layout for the birthday girl too.

The paper is SEI and is printed pink scalloped. The rub ons are from a February Scrap Room kit.

I'm going to see if the sketch is up yet.

Love Letters

I feel like I've missing in action for ages. Now half term is finished and we're all back to normal with no bugs, it's time to get back to some scrapping. This week I've been altering these letters. We were meant to do this in a class in Paris last year but they didn't have the letters!! Not much of a class. Thanks to Ching who bought the letters for us.

I used a kit from Scrap Room and the colours go with our lounge. I just need to add ribbon to the L and V. The photo of Matthew and Elizabeth was taken at Amaizin Crafts yesterday.

I've also been knitting some bags for felting. Photos of those to follow once the bags have been washed.
